Dr. Herald is on staff at Heritage Valley Beaver as a General Surgeon. A General Surgeon performs diagnostic procedures, such as upper and lower endoscopy, for disturbances in digestive function, heartburn and bowel problems. Surgery is recommended by Dr. Herald only when other measures have been tried.
As a Board Certified General Surgeon, Dr. Herald is also an expert in the evaluation and treatment of circulatory problems (Vascular Surgery) and breast questions (mammography interpretation). Suspicious skin lesions and ordinary, troublesome "lumps and bumps", are also areas treated routinely and promptly by Dr. Herald. Thoracic Surgery of suspicious lung or chest problems is also a regular part of Dr. Herald's practice.
